Meeting People Where They Are

Redemption House Ministries believes that caring for our neighbors means more than opening our doors—it also means going out into the community to meet people where they are.

Our Community Outreach Program provides food, hygiene items, clothing, blankets, and other essentials to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and financial hardship throughout Crook County. Through regular outreach visits, our team delivers practical support along with encouragement, compassion, and connection to helpful local resources.

Serving Communities Throughout Crook County

Our outreach teams travel in groups of two or three, visiting multiple camps and locations across the county in a ministry van filled with food and essential supplies. For many individuals, these visits provide not only practical assistance but also a meaningful connection to people who care. Team members are available to offer encouragement and help connect individuals with other organizations and services that may provide additional support.

Donate to Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Program depends on donations from local businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals.
Our most-needed items often include:

  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Canned meat and soup
  •  Ramen and pasta
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Cereal and shelf-stable milk
  • Children’s snacks
  • Hygiene products

We accept packaged, non-perishable food and hygiene items year-round.

Donation Drop-Off Locations: Craig’s Compassionate Café or Outreach Office at 3048 SW High Desert Drive, Unit L, Prineville, OR 97754. Please note that we are generally unable to accept clothing donations and ask that all food items be packaged and non-perishable.

Connecting People With Resources

No single organization can meet every need, which is why Redemption House Ministries partners with many community agencies and nonprofit organizations. Depending on individual circumstances, we may provide referrals to organizations offering housing assistance, clothing, food, healthcare, and other supportive services.

Community partners include local agencies and organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, NeighborImpact, BestCare, 211 for Central Oregon, and Thrive Central Oregon.

Our outreach teams travel in groups of two or three, visiting multiple camps and locations across the county in a ministry van filled with food and essential supplies.

Food Boxes and Essential Supplies

When individuals and families submit a request for a customized food box and other essential items that may be difficult to afford during times of financial hardship, our volunteers jump into action. Teams pack food boxes on Thursdays and deliver them on Fridays and Saturdays to camps and communities throughout Crook County. Depending on available donations, outreach teams may also provide blankets, clothing, propane, firewood, and other seasonal necessities to help people stay safe and comfortable.

For someone living in a tent, sleeping in a vehicle, or struggling to make ends meet, these simple provisions can offer more than practical support. They provide comfort, dignity, and a measure of stability during an uncertain season. For many volunteers, this work is equally meaningful. Beyond delivering food and supplies, they have the opportunity to build genuine connections, offer encouragement, and see firsthand how compassion and practical assistance can make a real difference in the lives of others.
