Kurt started working for Redemption House Ministries February 17, 2023, as the men’s shelter assistant manager. Prior to working at the shelter he was the Lieutenant Firefighter First Responder in Central Oregon, a role in which he gained extensive experience in leadership, emergency response teamwork, public service, and maintaining safety while supporting individuals in need. He was also on the Jefferson County search and rescue’s high angle reach and treat team. He is proud of the great team at the men’s shelter who work tirelessly to see the clients succeed in the program and move on to productive lives. He loves when former clients stop by the shelter just to say hi. Kurt previously worked three seasons on a salmon boat in Alaska.
