Reverend Michael Wilson joined the board of directors for Redemption House Ministries in 2014. He had previously served the Lutheran Community Services Northwest, Crook County Public Safety Advisory Committee, and Crook County Foundation Board of Directors. He has been instrumental in changing the Redemption House Ministries board makeup to expand the range of community perspectives. He also helped make Regeneration House (our men’s shelter) a reality. Initially with Redemption House Ministries just managing it, and later as we bought the land and built the current shelter on Madras Highway.
Reverend Michael Wilson’s Christian faith calls him to love like Jesus with ‘agape’ love; seeking the better interests of others regardless of their actions or merit. His dream is for affordable housing and the stability that offers to the alarming increase in unhoused families. He has seen the dignity that comes with secure housing and how it reduces the associated mental health and substance abuse issues.
