A Warm Welcome Begins With the Little Things

Redemption House Ministries is grateful to Commissioner Susie Hermreck for her generous donation to Redemption House Women’s Shelter. Susie not only purchased much-needed toiletry items for the women we serve, but also took the time to create beautiful Welcome gifts for women arriving at Redemption House.
Each gift caddy is filled with practical personal-care items, but what it represents goes far beyond the contents. For a woman arriving at the shelter, often during a difficult and uncertain time in her life, being welcomed with something prepared especially for her can be a powerful reminder that she is seen, valued, and cared for.
More Than a Toiletry Kit
These beautiful caddies offer some of the everyday necessities that can be easy to overlook when someone is facing housing instability. But they also carry something less tangible — warmth, kindness, and a sense of belonging. At Redemption House, creating a safe and supportive environment is an important first step. Having a secure place to stay provides the stability women need to begin addressing other challenges and thinking about what comes next.
That is why contributions like Susie’s matter. A donation doesn’t have to be enormous to make a meaningful difference. Sometimes it is a bag of toiletries. Sometimes it is a thoughtfully assembled gift basket. Sometimes it is simply the act of noticing a need and deciding to help meet it.
Thank You, Susie!
We are so grateful for the time, thoughtfulness, and generosity that went into these Welcome gifts. The love and warmth in these beautiful caddies are undeniable — and we know they will help women arriving at Redemption House feel a little more at home.
Thank you, Commissioner Hermreck, for reminding us that small acts of kindness can become part of something much bigger: creating a welcoming, supportive community where women can begin moving forward.
